I am back for another Tag Tuesday with the Joy of Christmas book tag that I found on the booktubers wikia (which I did not know existed but am now way too excited about).
1) Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?
I am so stoked for many book releases. My most recent one was Renegades by Marissa Meyer, which I am highly aware of is already out, but I have yet to buy it. For next year, release wise, I am highly anticipating the last book in the Throne of Glass series. This is so crazy, I can’t believe the last part is coming out and usually you’d kind of guess what will happen in the last book, but you can’t with the Throne of Glass series.
2) Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing it’s praises?
Since I already just fangirled about Sarah J. Maas in my last post, I’d like to throw J.K. Rowling into the mix. She is honestly so amazing, J.K.
Rowling can do no wrong. She created the amazing Harry Potter universe and although the series might have officially ended in 2007, here we are 10 years later, with new books constantly coming out. I always wish for the newest ones for my birthday/Christmas (or both) and they make me so happy. This year for my birthday I not only got the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (which is my favorite book in the series), I also got A History of Magic by J.K. Rowling and I only got to look through the first few pages since my birthday was yesterday, but the pictures are amazing and it has extra content in a way with all the pictures and excerpts from her book while it was still in the works (and as a future editor it was very fascinating to see these pages). So if you don’t have a present for a friend yet and they happen to be a Harry Potter lover, pleeease pick this up for them, they will love it to smithereens.
3) Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world building?
I love the Shadowhunters universe. The thing that I love most about it is the fact that it’s a parallel universe in a way. There’s obviously (in TMI) the New York that the mundanes see, but there’s also the parallel New York which the Shadowhunters see that’s filled with demons. I love this, because it makes fantasy easier for me. I am a fan of created universes (I have made this very clear by ACOTAR and the Throne of Glass Series being entirely high on my favorite series list), but sometimes they get hard for me to understand and it’s always challenging beginning a new series because there’s so much to learn, and that’s why I love series like the Shadowhunters series, it’s just a lot easier.
4) A Christmas Carol: Favorite classic or one that you want to read
I know for a fact that I am becoming this book from my mother for Christmas, mostly because I was with her when she bought it, and that is A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I’ve heard of a lot of classics, but I’ve never read one. And I want that to change. So, after hearing a lot of great praise about it, I am hoping I will like A Tale of Two Cities.
5) Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas
All of them, but I would like another fluffy contemporary story that’s very lighthearted, because on my tbr pile are only fantasy series and dark contemporaries, so I would like to dive into a maybe Morgan Matson esc. book again.
6) Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling
Harry Potter. I love everything about Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling was not lying when she said that Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home. I love reading my illustrated editions, I love getting my extra books, I love watching the movies. Talking about Harry Potter, looking at my Harry Potter shelf, thinking about Harry Potter, it generally makes my day better.
7) Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favorite book covers?
8) Christmas Joy: What are some of your favorite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favorite Christmas memories?
The best part about Christmas, in my opinion, is everything. You get to give gifts, you get to receive gifts, you spend time with your family, you get off from school. Christmas is such a wonderful season and it just entails so much – it’s absolutely wonderful.
That’s all from me for todays Tag Tuesday. I wrapped all of my presents today and am ready to gift them and am just so excited for Christmas in general. 🤗🤗
