I found this tag over on the Winged Cynics Book Blog, and even though I wasn’t tagged, I am doing it. That’s kind of how we run things here on EnthrallingUmbrellaBooks.Β I love Harry Potter, like many others, I mean my blog name was inspired by Harry Potter, so I’m super excited to do this tag.
ACCIO β An upcoming release you wish you could get your hands on right now.
For this I am going with What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. I am obviously anticipating other May releases, but I feel like May is actually relatively soon, so I really need What If It’s Us in my hands right now and I cannot wait until October. I’m going to hopefully be a senior in October, I’m not ready for that.
ALOHOMORA β Favorite series starter
I cannot answer this question with anything other than Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. It immediately had me hooked, I love the series entirely and honestly want to reread it.
AGUAMENTI βΒ A book that made you ugly-cry
I have many answers for this question, I am very emotional. I feel like an obvious answer would be The Fault in Our Stars so I’m going with Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.Β Spoiler AlertΒ When Snape killed Dumbledore, I was an emotional mess. I did not expect Snape to kill Dumbledore, it was so much. I hadn’t seen the movies yet either so I got so angry, I thought that the biggest way to prove my point was to remove Snapes funko pop from my amazon cart. Yeah, I’m a pretty petty person.
EXPECTO PATRONUM β Bookish hero or heroine you want around to protect you in real life.
Azriel. Definitely Azriel. He’s a very strong character, and I would definitely like him to protect me in life. Maybe I’ll finally get over my anxiety with my teacher with him by my side.
CHEERING CHARM β A book that gave you all the warm fuzzies.
This is really hard for me, since I try to read books that generally give me warm fuzzies. For this I have many picks, like Geekerella by Ashley Poston and Becky Albertalli books and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell but I think I’m going to have to go with Autoboyography by Christina Lauren. My review for this book went up yesterday, and I just loved it so much. It was an amazing book.
IMPERIO β A book you wish you could make everyone read because you loved it so much.
Although I want to answer with Autoboyography again, because I can’t stop loving that book, I think I’m going to go with Moxie. It’s a great book and it has a lot of important topics in it which I was so happy to see written down. It’s a real eye-opener.
LUMOS β A book you intentionally spoiled for yourself.
I do not intentionally spoil myself for anything. I hate spoilers. But maybe books I had to read for school, I didn’t mind getting spoiled for those. **Edit, while answering a later question, I realized I did intentionally spoil myself for a death. Harry Potter spoiler alert, I was so upset after Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I googled Bellatrix and I wanted to see that someone killed her. I was in complete rage over what she did to Sirius and when I saw that she does get killed, I was so happy.
WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA β A book with an uplifting ending or message.
The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon had the best ending. The prologue, I could not handle it. I actually cried because I was so happy. I love The Sun is Also a Star and it the ending shows how there is a huge butterfly effect in life.
CRUCIO β A book that was painful to read.
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. Reading that book, was really painful. Usually with a lot of YA Fantasy books, there’s always a pending war and in the last part they defeat the bad guy, but they always have help. They always find it somehow, but with this book. They just couldn’t get any help and throughout the entire book I felt so bad for them because they’re trying so hard but nothing is working. It was really hard.
JELLY-LEGS JINX β A swoon-worthy hero or heroine.
How can I answer this with anything other than Rhysand from ACOMAF by Sarah J. Maas. He. Is. Amazing. That’s all I’m saying. I will never get enough of Rhysand.
ARESTO MOMENTUM β A book that caused you to stop doing all other things until you finished it.
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. I was reading this book, and I just could not stop. I finished this the day before my Latin tutoring course for Easter break and I wanted to look at some Latin stuff so I wouldn’t be completely confused, but I couldn’t stop Lady Midnight. I called my friend when I still had 200 pages left and she told me I should just read it so I wouldn’t be distracted during my course which was good advice, so I stayed up ’till midnight to read it and omg that ending.
ENGORGIO βΒ A book or series you wish never ended.
The Anna and the French Kiss trilogy. I really loved it so much since Stephanie Perkins is amazing at contemporary, and I just want to know more from the characters. I need more. It was so good.
OBLIVIATE β A book you wish you could forget you ever read.
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins, that book was so bad. I wish I could erase that out of my memory. And I wish I could erase the movie out of my memory. It was terrible. I don’t think I’ve ever hated anything more.
STUPEFY β A book with a shocking twist or ending.
I have again many answers for this questions. I can’t go with Lady Midnight again, although that was a fricking train ride, and Empire of Storms seems to be a pretty obvious answer, I feel like City of Fallen Angels also had a pretty shocking twist at the end. Like, no one could have seen that coming, and keeping this vague is hard, but those literal last two pages were crazy.
AVADA KEDAVRA β A character death that destroyed you.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Spoiler AlertΒ I was not ready for Sirius’ death. I got spoiled for it, but I didn’t know when and I assumed it would be in the last book, but then it wasn’t. The Veil scene happened, and I didn’t completely understand it. I just remember crying like a little bitch, completely taken aback that it happened so early. My literal thoughts on this on Goodreads are: Sirius… Bellatrix go fuck a pig and die.’ So, I guess you could say I was not happy with the end. Plus, when I watched the movie, mascara everywhere.
ANAPNEO β An author whose books always get you out of a slump.
I wish that I would have more creative answers and wouldn’t always go with the same answers, but Stephanie Perkins’ books get me out of a slump every single time. Without a doubt, it works every time. I reread Anna and the French Kiss aswell as Isla and the Happily Ever After last September/October and it completely got me out of my reading slump, shortly after that I picked up the Raven Boys and was back in reading mode. They work every time and I know that the next time I get into a book slump I’ll just reread her books.
RICTUSEMPRA β A book that had you laughing out loud.
Every single one of Rick Riordans books, hilarious. I’m always laughing when I’m reading his books, and I cannot wait for the third part in the Trials of Apollo series that’s coming out in May.
EXPELLIARMUS β A book that made you want to send it flying.
I don’t think I really have an answer for this. I either really like books, think they’re okay or think that they’re crap. I guess with this one I could go with literally any of the Shadowhunter academy novellas. I never finished them, because I could not do that to myself, but they were reallllly annoying.
PORTUS β A bookish world you wish you could visit.
Is it obvious if I answer this question with the Harry Potter universe? I really want to be a wizard okay, I’d be great in the Hufflepuff house, I would be amazing. I really wish I could be in the Harry Potter universe. Maybe not around the same time as Harry Potter, but still with the same teachers.
FINITE INCANTATEM β Best series conclusion.
This is hard for me to answer because in my opinion a lot of series finales fall flat for me. I either expect too much, or I just simply do not like the ending. Like I’m still kind of underwhelmed with A Court of Wings and Ruin. But I am definitely going with Winter by Marissa Meyer for this. Marissa Meyer wrapped up everything in a beautiful bow, it was amazing. It was over 800 pages long, but it did not feel like 800 pages, it was such a good conclusion. Plus the extra little story we got in Stars Above was so cute, it completely wrecked me. Man, this just makes me want to reread the Lunar Chronicles.
So that’s it for this super long tag. Going into it I did not expect it to be this long, but phew. I hope y’all enjoyed it, and if you want to give it a go aswell, please do, I tag everybody.Β π€π€
I loved reading your story about Snape, haha. It was cute and funny. I can defiantly agree with you on Rhysand. π

I love all your Harry Potter answers! LEGIT same reaction to those deaths as you – enraged at Bellatrix for offing Sirius, at Snape for offing Dumbledore. XD Ooh, and same! I also either love or hate books; I can’t seem to find a happy medium lol. Terrific post! I enjoyed reading all your answers to these questions! π
